SPEAKER_00

I was working out shirtless with my son yesterday, and he goes, Dad, you're tongue.

SPEAKER_02

Such a weird intro to any story.

SPEAKER_00

That I was working out shirtless with my it was hot. And my son goes, Dad, your your belly is jiggling.

SPEAKER_02

This is what I'm saying to you about accepting your body at this age. The boys point that shit out to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Even if I'm wearing, you know, pants or something and I'm sitting here and Connor puts his hands on my leg and maybe starts doing this, he'll be like, Why is it shaking?

SPEAKER_00

Mom, why is your thigh shaking?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You should respond, that's all lady.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think he would react positively to that.

SPEAKER_00

Do your kids just kind of pick apart your looks while welcome to parenthood?

SPEAKER_02

I hope it's normal and that it's not just our kids, but our kids are pretty hypercritical.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, when he said, Dad, your belly shaking, I was like, okay, I'm done working out now.

SPEAKER_02

What did you say when he said that? Did you say it's all man?

SPEAKER_00

I said, look at that shake right there. Did you really? I was like, shut up, Connor.

SPEAKER_02

Because you probably went, wah.

SPEAKER_00

I love summer. I'm ready to summer. Big thing with summering is your summer body.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's the drag about it.

SPEAKER_00

Do you feel better now that you're 40 in a swimsuit or when you were 25?

SPEAKER_02

What do you think the answer to that question would be?

SPEAKER_00

I feel better now at 40 than 25.

SPEAKER_02

Do you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think this big boy dad bod.

SPEAKER_02

So it's not that you necessarily feel better, it's that you feel more accepting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if it's a me thing or if it's a female thing, but accepting is very hard to come by. So I haven't really reached that point completely yet.

SPEAKER_00

So the 40-year-old midlife hasn't hit you with the ah, I don't give a shit.

SPEAKER_02

Not completely.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe this will be the summer, Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Well, summer used to be simple bathing suits, get a burn, go to the pool.

SPEAKER_02

Burn yourself.

SPEAKER_00

I was always burnt when I was young.

SPEAKER_02

That's bad news for you now.

SPEAKER_00

Now it's all about summer maxing. Summer maxing is the internet's attempt to optimize everything summer.

SPEAKER_02

This umbrella term that just is summer.

SPEAKER_00

It's how you look, what you eat, you know, where you go, and how much fun you're having. How much fun you're having. We used to just go out and have fun in summer, and now it's a whole thing. It's a lot to live up to.

SPEAKER_02

It creates expectations. June, July, August, I got big expectations. It makes it harder for people to accept what they have because they have to live up to these hyped up, maxed out, optimized looks. Yes, I mean, to the max means like the most, right? So if you're summer maxing, or if you're, you know, this is going to be your summer body, it's just like to the extreme. Like this is what matters.

SPEAKER_00

I got a fun fact for you, Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

The unofficial American summer is from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Right. And this year, summer lasts 106 days. Last year, summer lasted 99 days.

SPEAKER_02

What how could that be? The calendar is the same from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe I'll put up one of those graphics that explains how this works.

SPEAKER_02

I need like a pie chart, Don.

SPEAKER_00

But mostly this is Flavor Town for Dawn, where I don't understand. And there's some scientific reason why summer is seven days longer than last year.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder if fall will be shorter. Well, I would say Is there a domino effect? It's like this is the year of summer.

SPEAKER_00

We live in Southern California. Summer is six months out of the year.

SPEAKER_02

Just degrees of summer. Let's talk about the glorious tan, buffed out summer body don.

SPEAKER_00

Shredded, ripped abs, the glistening skin, the guns, the tan lines. Do we need a special body for summer?

SPEAKER_02

A normal, sane, well-adjusted person would say, No, you need your own body and you need it to be healthy. And another person would say, Yes, yes, you do.

SPEAKER_00

I may fit into the first category then.

SPEAKER_02

You are very well adjusted.

SPEAKER_00

No, the second category.

SPEAKER_02

So that yes, you do. I got lost in the categories. That you accept your body.

SPEAKER_00

I do, but as summer comes, I always feel the need to or desire to lose some weight, to tone up a bit.

SPEAKER_02

To impress the 10-year-old and 14-year-old.

SPEAKER_00

To impress myself. I'm like, I gotta look good for day number one over here.

SPEAKER_02

Let me stop right there because that button's gonna really budget you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that is. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_02

Just piss you off the whole edit.

SPEAKER_00

Did you're a hundred percent. My buttons are unbuttoned.

SPEAKER_02

I look like a slob.

SPEAKER_00

Ugh.

SPEAKER_02

Um, no, a summer body takes work.

SPEAKER_00

All good things take work. Oh, bam.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I guess so.

SPEAKER_00

Shit don't come to people that don't do anything.

SPEAKER_02

Some shit does.

SPEAKER_00

Probably bad shit. Or bat shit.

SPEAKER_02

Just degrees of shit.

SPEAKER_00

The internet.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that thing?

SPEAKER_00

Believes that.

SPEAKER_02

The internet believes.

SPEAKER_00

It has belief. Well, I guess there's trends on the internet that are heavy into the summer body and how to achieve the max summer body. It's called looks maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So you want to tell the people what looks maxing is?

SPEAKER_02

I don't even think that looks maxing is limited to summer. But in this, in this discussion, we're limiting it to summer.

SPEAKER_00

We are. And it's turned up maybe to 12.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, past 11.

SPEAKER_00

Past 11. Yeah. For those who don't know Spinal Tap, go watch it.

SPEAKER_02

Explain the joke.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the joke. And looks maxing is maxing out your look, and there's healthy ways to do it, and there's bad ways to do it.

SPEAKER_02

And I guess it's interesting that it's looks maxing as opposed to like health maxing.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Burn. Burn on society.

SPEAKER_00

So looks maxing it comes from the origin word looksum.

SPEAKER_02

Looksom.

SPEAKER_00

Looksum. Is that with an X? No. Oh, damn. It basically means discrimination based on look.

SPEAKER_02

Are you sure it's looksum and not looks ism?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, that's it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, Dodge.

SPEAKER_00

Flavortown. Flavortown, flavortown, flavortown. Looksum. Wait, look.

SPEAKER_02

If it's a prejudice, prejudism, then it would be, I'm just saying, like you have to think of like racism or racist.

SPEAKER_00

You are completely correct.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Lookism.

SPEAKER_02

Thanks for that lesson, Don. I learned something about my husband. All right. Continue with your lesson for us all. I can't even continue with this lesson. Well, so looks maxing is like a response to look or looksism.

SPEAKER_00

Maxing, because we talk about maxing a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, to the max.

SPEAKER_00

To the max. The suffix maxing is a gamer term.

SPEAKER_02

Like to supercharge something is to max it.

SPEAKER_00

All the maxing that you hear around now all came from gamers.

SPEAKER_02

So many things come from gamers.

SPEAKER_00

I got a fact for you, Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

The summer body trend dates back to the 1960s. Do you know why?

SPEAKER_02

Gidget.

SPEAKER_00

That's probably a really good guess. Damn. You're you got there so fast.

SPEAKER_02

You're now second guessing what you were going to say.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say it was the emergence of the bikini.

SPEAKER_02

Charlie's Angels was probably 70s. Yeah, I would say all of those things.

SPEAKER_00

In 2019, there was a survey of a thousand Americans that described the perfect woman.

SPEAKER_02

Oh Lord.

SPEAKER_00

As five five.

SPEAKER_02

What?

SPEAKER_00

128 pounds.

SPEAKER_02

What?

SPEAKER_00

And a 26-inch waist.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then I'm doomed anyways, because I'm taller than that.

SPEAKER_00

True. Give up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Done.

SPEAKER_00

70% of individuals experience body dissatisfaction during summer.

SPEAKER_02

Because it's a it's like a comparison fest. Do you think that looks maxing is good or bad? It's a very I guess it depends on how you do it.

SPEAKER_00

Because technically getting a haircut is looks maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, it is?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, so really taking care of your appearance in any way is doing your laundry.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's not changing your appearance. I guess going and getting new clothes would be. There's soft looks maxing and hard maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, hard.

SPEAKER_00

Cosmetic surgery, changing your appearance permanently.

SPEAKER_02

There is a lot of different kinds of maxing.

SPEAKER_00

Our favorite forms of maxing.

SPEAKER_02

My favorite form of maxing is snack maxing.

SPEAKER_00

Avoiding the scale maxing.

SPEAKER_02

We don't even have a scale.

SPEAKER_00

I have no idea how much I weigh.

SPEAKER_02

It's only when I go to the doctor.

SPEAKER_00

And you're like, holy shit.

SPEAKER_02

No, it actually always ends up good.

SPEAKER_00

But it could be a holy shit good.

SPEAKER_02

But I like won't eat for a little while before your looks maxing over there. No, I'm like number maxing. Like I like I want, yeah, I'm worried about those numbers, but it always works out.

SPEAKER_00

Air conditioning maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Wearing the same shirt maxing. You do that.

SPEAKER_00

I love wearing the same clothes over and over.

SPEAKER_02

It's like a compulsion that you have.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, because I don't think you need to wear your clothes once and then wash them.

SPEAKER_02

But sometimes you do it to the extr you do it to the maxed on. We have to conserve our detergent.

SPEAKER_00

It's just so wasteful.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

If your underwear needs less laundry. Your underwear, I understand. It's close to all sorts of weird things. But for the most part, your shirt, your pants, you don't need to wash them every freaking time you wear them.

SPEAKER_02

That's lifestyle tips by Dawn. All right, you want to do the next not leaving the house maxing. Sitting near a pool but not getting in maxing.

SPEAKER_00

That's what this one does. That's the best kind of maxing.

SPEAKER_02

I love to sit by a pool.

SPEAKER_00

But not get in. And then I like to kennball and splash you.

SPEAKER_02

So do our children. It's just sometimes it's too cold in the pool.

SPEAKER_00

90 degrees is real cold.

SPEAKER_02

John, we both know that the pool is not 90 degrees. Move it on. Cut that out.

SPEAKER_00

So the way that people are maxing their summer bodies is with these things called peptides.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Have you ever heard of a peptide?

SPEAKER_02

I have because I've seen the word, but I don't take a lot of time to read it. It's kind of like people take it like a vitamin, right?

SPEAKER_00

Peptides are in your body. Okay. They normally occur. They instruct your cells on how to function.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they're little teachers.

SPEAKER_00

They're like do this, do that.

SPEAKER_02

Medicine has figured out how to um train your peptides.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Okay. And it's not a blanket thing. So it's very pointed to very specific things in your body.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And examples, GLP1s. Right. Tailored to your metabolism. One of the peptides things you can do as well to increase your looks is you can take stuff that makes you tan.

SPEAKER_02

That's part of tan maxing, Don.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. What, what, what?

SPEAKER_00

It's a thing, tan maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. There are tan fluencers online.

SPEAKER_00

Tell me more.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, don't you aspire to be a tan fluencer? I hope that our children grow up to be tan fluencers. Dream big, everybody. Tan fluencers post about tan maxing with enhancers, like you said, the peptides or carrot extract. They show off their tan lines, and they are basically singing the praises of what being ultra tan means. Well, you've gotten very silent over there.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna make a joke.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait to hear it.

SPEAKER_00

You had said they were singing the praises, and I wanted to hear you singing praises. That's not how does the singing the praises go? I know it's a saying.

SPEAKER_02

I no, I'm saying that's not a joke. A joke is not I didn't have a joke.

SPEAKER_00

I was just sitting on a comment.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I was thinking of a joke. The joke was I want you to sing your praises. But what's interesting about tan fluencers and tan maxing is that the lines are blurred about the safety of tanning now. In part, you're gonna hate that I bring this up.

SPEAKER_00

Oh God. Is this turning political?

SPEAKER_02

It is. Oh just cover your ears for one minute.

SPEAKER_00

Don't go dark, Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

Cover your ears for one minute. The health secretary, Robert Kennedy, he has a tanning bed and he uses it all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you went and used a tanning bed. People use tanning beds all the time.

SPEAKER_02

They were close to outlawing it for minors.

SPEAKER_00

Outline tanning beds for minors is different than outline tanning beds. When you're an adult, who gives a fuck? Do whatever you want. But for a minor where they are not fully developed, then that's different. I think we need to protect our minors.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say the children. Protect the children.

SPEAKER_00

We should.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, Don. You're gonna face a lot of backlash for that.

SPEAKER_00

We should protect the children. That seems pretty universal to me.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I know, but when we talk about tan maxing and look maxing and stuff, like a lot of that is like very young people.

SPEAKER_00

Five years old?

SPEAKER_02

Don, I'm not talking about five years old people.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Anyways, so yes, tan maxing is a thing. Tan fluencers is a thing. I think you can fluence anything. What kind of a fluencer would you be?

SPEAKER_00

You want to know what immediately came to my mind?

SPEAKER_02

That's why I asked.

SPEAKER_00

I'd be a fart influencer.

SPEAKER_02

It would be a fart fluencer.

SPEAKER_00

Today we're gonna talk about this fart.

SPEAKER_02

And here's this one the benefits of it and how cool you look doing it. I would be a play fluencer because I love to play.

SPEAKER_00

How not to work fluencer.

SPEAKER_02

Don, right now my work is to play, okay?

SPEAKER_00

So this peptide.

SPEAKER_02

The tanning peptide.

SPEAKER_00

It's called the Barbie drug.

SPEAKER_02

So it basically colors your skin.

SPEAKER_00

Literally. It's also known as the tan jab.

SPEAKER_02

I wonder how you inject it. Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_00

You inject it. That's a peptide. I think most you have to inject it. Yeah, you have to inject it. And it literally stimulates the melatonin production in your skin to darken your skin. It lasts one to two months.

SPEAKER_02

One shot?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, wow. I'm seeing the appeal of it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know about any of this. We're not doctors. We're just we're decoding the internet.

SPEAKER_02

We're not even decoding it. Let's be real.

SPEAKER_00

Interduce it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we're just discussing it and then going off on tangents.

SPEAKER_00

So the way that you say this peptide that makes your skin darker is melanotan.

SPEAKER_02

That sounds like a weird tanning oil product.

SPEAKER_00

Let's put on some melanotan. Yeah, that's odd. You don't put on melanotan, you inject it.

SPEAKER_02

Obviously.

SPEAKER_00

And it turns your skin dark.

SPEAKER_02

I don't see why the FDA would approve that.

SPEAKER_00

There could be an upside that you don't get skin cancer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Because it protects your skin.

SPEAKER_02

Don't make things up like that.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what it does. I'm just saying there could be benefits to melanotan beyond just turning your skin darker. I'm not sure what they are.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I got another fact for you.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

This has to do with the sun.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Did you know that summer is hot?

SPEAKER_02

I did know that.

SPEAKER_00

I did. It's not because the earth is closer to the sun.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

It's that the tilt has tilted the northern hemisphere.

SPEAKER_02

This is the weirdest fact you could have shared right now.

SPEAKER_00

Why? We were talking about hot and summer and sun and this is a sun remote.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, hey, why is it so hot? Right.

SPEAKER_02

Are you going to tell me about ocean tides now?

SPEAKER_00

No, that has nothing to do with panning. Max it or nix it.

SPEAKER_02

I bet I'm going to nix everything.

SPEAKER_00

So maybe you should read these and I will tell you what I think.

SPEAKER_02

I'll do that, Don.

SPEAKER_00

Because you're just going to be a Don. Yeah. I don't like to do anything.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, Don, I have a game for you. Oh, great. Do you want to play Max It or Nix It?

SPEAKER_00

Let's play.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Belly button sunning. Let me stop you right there. Exposing your belly button to sunlight because it supposedly, it really doesn't. Improves energy, digestion, or mood.

SPEAKER_00

I'm in. Max it.

SPEAKER_02

Really? You're going to sun your belly button?

SPEAKER_00

I like getting my belly button.

SPEAKER_02

Are you going to go out in a button-up shirt and just open it up at your belly button and lay there?

SPEAKER_00

I'm going to wear a t-shirt and cut a hole just for my belly button.

SPEAKER_02

Jawline gum. Chewing extremely hard gum for long periods to build a more powerful jaw.

SPEAKER_00

I'm going to nix it, but I do like chewing gum and we chew hard gum. It's called double bubble. We're baseball players and so we chew the double bubble.

SPEAKER_02

Really? I thought we were filmmakers.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's true. I mean, I'm not professionally a baseball player, but my son plays and then I like to do it with him. And so we, I don't even play.

SPEAKER_02

And that was the most depressing, like come to Jesus moment where you started out with, we're baseball players. And then you took a step down and another step down, and then you ended with, I don't even play. I feel bad for you now. Um I wish I could. I would argue that this chewing gum probably just kills all of your teeth. So you may have a powerful jaw, but you will not have any teeth. So what's the point?

SPEAKER_00

Great.

SPEAKER_02

Mirror fasting. Avoiding mirrors for a week to improve body image before swimsuit season. That is the long time.

SPEAKER_00

To avoid the mirror in your house would be basically to wear blind. Like, I'm gonna brush my teeth.

SPEAKER_02

You couldn't even drive your car because you couldn't look in the rearview mirror. Seems pretty insane. Dangerous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Don't avoid mirrors.

SPEAKER_02

Armpit detoxing. Don, would you put clay or charcoal masks in your armpits to quote, draw out toxins and prepare for summer?

SPEAKER_00

These are real things.

SPEAKER_02

For real, people do that.

SPEAKER_00

All of these are real.

SPEAKER_02

Why do you want to draw out toxins for summer? Why do you want toxins in your body at all? Okay, so that's another way of asking this question. Why are you doing this for summer?

SPEAKER_00

Because you're trying to get the toxins out.

SPEAKER_02

Why are we pulling them out of our armpits?

SPEAKER_00

Well, now you're getting into Flavortown, Flavortown, Flavortown. No idea whether this works or not.

SPEAKER_02

It can't possibly clay. That means that people who work with clay are getting toxins out of their body through their hands all the time.

SPEAKER_00

No, this has you have to put it in your armpits. I could go down and guess.

SPEAKER_02

I'd like to know what your guess is.

SPEAKER_00

My guess is that you have like lymph nodes and in your armpits. And so the clay has some sort of acidity or pH balance that might be Don.

SPEAKER_02

I think you should do this. I think you should walk around the house like this while it's going on.

SPEAKER_00

I'll walk around the house like this. And then you want to go to the house.

SPEAKER_02

I don't really want I don't really want you to do that. Walking backward to burn more calories. Does it burn more calories to walk?

SPEAKER_00

You use different muscles. I max that. I'm gonna walk backwards everywhere.

SPEAKER_02

It's like when I when I used to go to the gym.

SPEAKER_00

When was that? Two decades ago. When I used to go to the gym 30 years ago.

SPEAKER_02

It feels like yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

You know what else goes into getting your summer body?

SPEAKER_02

What?

SPEAKER_00

How you eat.

SPEAKER_02

I know. What a drag that is.

SPEAKER_00

What was popular was protein maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, protein is everywhere. This is not a new thing that we are bringing up. Right. They put protein obviously in shakes. Protein shakes are nothing new, but now it's in water, popcorn, pop tarts. You can get protein pop tarts. Starbucks coffee. You can get Starbucks protein coffee cereal. One of the ones that I just found out about, Kelly. Yes. Is man cereal. Oh. It is the brand is literally called man cereal. Did you see this? I did. Holy shit.

SPEAKER_02

It's got creatine in it, I think.

SPEAKER_00

Creatine. You know what? I only eat man cereal. Do you know why, Kelly?

SPEAKER_02

Um, because you're a man.

SPEAKER_00

Bam! I don't need any of that lady cereal. Now the new kind of up and coming trend is not protein maxing, it is fiber maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Gotta stay regular.

SPEAKER_00

Shitting maxing. People under eat fiber.

SPEAKER_02

They probably under eat protein too. That's probably also why that happened.

SPEAKER_00

Protein had taken over to the point that literally it's in everything.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe protein backed people up.

SPEAKER_00

And now they need to reverse it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We're gonna have a fiber max. It's like it's like a call and response.

SPEAKER_00

Why can't you just eat a medium amount of protein or a medium amount of just eat a balanced meal?

SPEAKER_02

How about that?

SPEAKER_00

You know what we should do? We should like really truly fiber max. So everything we eat has a huge amount of fiber, and we should see what happens. I think I would feel awful. Then we'd toilet max. I got a quiz for you now, Kelly.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Real summer food trend or real fake. Emotional support smoothies.

SPEAKER_02

I think that is a real trend.

SPEAKER_00

That's a fake, but it sounds real.

SPEAKER_02

It does sound real.

SPEAKER_00

Cottage cheese ice cream.

SPEAKER_02

Real.

SPEAKER_00

Real. Protein coffee.

SPEAKER_02

That's real.

SPEAKER_00

Pie maxing.

SPEAKER_02

Pie maxing? No, that's not real.

SPEAKER_00

That's real in Don's world.

SPEAKER_02

That's your dream world.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my dream world is pie maxing. I'm pie maxing over here. Kelly and I went through a phase where we made a pie a week and just her and I ate it. We started to gain too much weight. Internal shower drink.

SPEAKER_02

That's real.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what that is? No, I don't know what it's so it's chia seeds, water, and lemon juice, and it's promoted as a way to improve regularity.

SPEAKER_02

Instead of fiber maxing, you could just do that.

SPEAKER_00

Internal shower seems like you're like putting your like mouth on a shower head and turning on the water.

SPEAKER_02

That sounds like torture.

SPEAKER_00

That's waterboarding.

SPEAKER_02

Let's give him the internal shower.

SPEAKER_00

You can't I have nothing to say.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_00

The sleepy girl mocktail.

SPEAKER_02

Real.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what it is?

SPEAKER_02

No, but because it's called the sleepy girl mocktail, it has to be real.

SPEAKER_00

Tart cherry juice, magnesium powder, and sparkling or prebiotic soda.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that cherry juice has something to do with sleep when you have a hard time sleeping.

SPEAKER_00

That's why it's called the sleepy girl mocktail.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that it meant that it wakes you up because you're a sleepy girl.

SPEAKER_00

That's called energy drink.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

We should create the male version.

SPEAKER_02

Of a sleepy girl mocktail. It'd be like tired dude.

SPEAKER_00

Morning electrolyte ritual.

SPEAKER_02

Probably real.

SPEAKER_00

No, but that could be real. But no, when I researched it, not real.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, but maybe in the last 24 hours it became real.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it makes sense. It does. We're gonna electrolyte max our mornings.

SPEAKER_02

It does.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So what's your verdict?

SPEAKER_02

My verdict, what is the question that I'm verdicting on?

SPEAKER_00

Is the summer body good?

SPEAKER_02

I think the summer body can be good. It depends on what the body goal is and how you're gonna get there.

SPEAKER_00

I think the best summer body is the one that you enjoy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Don. That's like a sign in a beach house.

SPEAKER_00

Don and Kelly versus the AI. The question to Chat GPT is Is the summer body a good thing? ChatGPT responds with the summer body can be a good thing if it means getting stronger, improving your cardiovascular fitness, eating the way that gives you more energy, being confident outside by the pool and summer activities. It can be negative if you are crash dieting, obsessing over specific weight, comparing yourself to unrealistic images on uh social media. The phrase itself, summer body, carries an odd implication that your body needs to earn the right to be seen in summer. In reality, the body you have right now is already a summer body if you put on shorts and go outside.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if you have a body and it's summer, you have a summer body.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Do you want to talk about predictions and what you maybe want to give time to right now?

SPEAKER_00

Let's give it time.

SPEAKER_02

I saw a headline that said pickles pickle flavoring is the pumpkin spice of summer.

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah. I freaking love pickles.

SPEAKER_02

And I loved that explanation of it. And so I'm saying, give it time, add some pickles to everything. You can do pickle seasoning. You can buy pickle seasoning and you add it to your popcorn or your chips or your pretzels. People add it to their cream cheese and then put it on a bagel.

SPEAKER_00

It's pickle spice season.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So I haven't tried it in all of these forms, but I think that give it time and I will.

SPEAKER_00

I like pickle more than pumpkin.

SPEAKER_02

Pumpkin spice is garbage.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, you're gonna get a lot of hate.

SPEAKER_02

Garbage.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. Those are some hateful words.

SPEAKER_02

So pickles. Pickles are where it's at. Tickle your pickle.

SPEAKER_00

I'll give you a nickel for my to tickle my pickle.

SPEAKER_02

What would you like to uh say give it time to?

SPEAKER_00

I found this thing called dopamine sites. Dopamine websites. This is bananas.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they're bananas sites?

SPEAKER_00

They are websites set up so you can go and artificially buy something and you go through the entire process of buying.

SPEAKER_02

So it's mall madness on the computer.

SPEAKER_00

And then they don't ship it.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So you can go buy groceries on these sites. You can go basically shop Amazon on these sites. Load up your cart, put in, but it's all the way to the point of you can put in your address, right? Your, I don't know about your credit card.

SPEAKER_02

Probably you do.

SPEAKER_00

Probably. And you hit buy, and then they don't ship.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So it's the dopamine release of buying something without actually buying something.

SPEAKER_02

It is a very interesting idea. I just wonder if it does anything where it's like a person will go through those steps and then feel that dopamine rush and then and then they're okay with not having actually received it.

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe they go back on the site and they buy more. Why not just buy the whole damn site? Kelly, I just artificially bought us some pickles.

SPEAKER_02

Don't worry, we'll never see them. Is there anything that you want to recommend?

SPEAKER_00

One last thing. As we head into summer, we are in summer.

SPEAKER_02

We're not heading. We are in it.

SPEAKER_00

As we are in the throes of summer, indeed, we are, and the heat hits hard.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I recommend a Hugo spritz. So you may know what an Aperol Spritz is. Two years ago, we were in Europe and I ordered what is essentially a Hugo Spritz. It is Saint Germain, which is Elderflower, and Prosecco.

SPEAKER_02

I love all spritzes.

SPEAKER_00

How about a pickle spritz? Well, Kelly, thank you very much for sharing your opinions about your summer body, ways to max it, things not to do, the weird trends online, and all above.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you for maxing out with me.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you for listening and watching. Please subscribe, share, do whatever you want.

SPEAKER_02

Do whatever you want, whatever feels right.
